Cleaners 'sacked for being British'

A UK-based cleaning company has been accused of sacking two workers because they are British.

Conservative MP Henry Smith used parliamentary privilege to claim Jani-King, based in Kingston-upon-Thames in Surrey, fired the duo simply because they were from Britain.

Speaking as MPs discussed topics for future debates, Mr Smith told the Commons: "Recently I have been dealing with a case on behalf of two constituents who were dismissed from their job with a commercial cleaning firm called Jani-King, allegedly for being British.

"Can we have consideration for a debate on discrimination against British workers in this country?"

Protest over racism fears at school

RESIDENTS held a candle-lit protest at a school’s open evening alleging racism amongst pupils.

But the headteacher of Thornhill Community Science College, Jonny Mitchell, said the claims were unsubstantiated.

Around 12 protesters met outside the school in Valley Drive as it held an open evening.

Organiser Shaun Maddox said: “There is no community cohesion here at all. There seems to be a barrier between the white community and the Muslim community.”

He said he had heard several allegations of Asian pupils attacking white pupils.

Court date for six men in teen sex case

SIX men have appeared in court after a police investigation into child sexual exploitation in Dewsbury.

The investigation began last year when a 15-year-old girl was found by police at an address in Ravensthorpe.

The men, who had been arrested and bailed, were charged this week with various sexual offences against the girl.

On Wednesday, Dewsbury magistrates heard the offences were alleged to have taken place between May 10 and 13 2010.

Hasan Rehman, 18, of Tanhouse Street, Ravensthorpe was charged with attempted rape.

Ali Rehman, 26, also of Tanhouse Street, Ravensthorpe, was charged with three counts of rape and one of attempted rape.

Faifar Younis, 23, of Textile Street, Dewsbury, was charged with rape.

Larasab Hussain, 45, of Headfield Road, Savile Town, was charged with sexual assault.

All four were remanded in custody.

Wahid Hussain, 19, Broomer Street, Ravensthorpe, was charged with attempted rape.

Saqib Hussain, 31, of Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury, was charged with sexual assault.

Judging by the news reports, Dewsbury must be one of the most heavily Muslim-colonised areas in Britain. In fact, it looks as though it has already reached the final stage of Muslim territorial consolidation - when the Muslims turn on each other.

Mosques’ gang and drugs plea

A BID to steer young people away from crime, drugs and gangs is being run in mosques.

The ‘cutting edge’ talks are also a response to a Dewsbury councillor’s claim that some communities are living in fear.

Coun Karam Hussain recently told the Reporter some Asian youths were creating a climate of fear with violent burglaries.

Speaking after a member of his own family was targeted, Coun Hussain said some residents in Ravensthorpe were too frightened to report problems to the police.

Originally aimed at the aftermath of the summer riots, the talks, delivered by youth services officer PC Pete Whitehouse, are a partnership between police, Kirklees Faith Network and Street Chance Dewsbury.
